Rare postmodern 80s table with a special construction designed by the Dutch architect Koen van Velsen (1952). The table has a solid wooden top with white Formica finish and a tapered table edge. The top is supported by a minimalist chromed steel frame on a weighted metal base and a continuous tension cable that keeps the table in balance. The tension cable is tensioned/fixed to three threaded rods with nuts. At the top, this connection is visible through three metal rosettes. Special conceptual version of a dining table.

Condition: Good vintage condition. Light traces of use on the metal base. The table has a small repair to the Formica (3-4mm).

Zeldzame post moderne tafel met een bijzondere constructie ontworpen door de Nederlandse architect Koen van Velsen, 1980s. De tafel heeft een massief houten blad met witte Formica afwerking en verjongde tafelrand. Het blad wordt ondersteund door een minimalistisch verchroomd stalen frame op een verzwaarde metalen voet en een doorlopende spankabel welke de tafel in balans houdt. De spankabel zit gespannen/gefixeerd aan drie draadeinden met moeren. Aan de bovenzijde is deze verbinding zichtbaar door drie metalen rozetten. Bijzondere conceptuele uitvoering van een eettafel. Goede vintage conditie. Lichte gebruikssporen op de metalen voet. De tafel heeft een kleine reparatie aan het Formica (3-4mm).
