Original vintage folding beech armchairs/dining chairs designed in the 1950s by Slovenian architect Niko Kralj (1920-2013) for Stol. The chairs consist of solid beech seats and beautifully designed beech plywood armrests. The appearance of these chairs, which are part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum in Denmark, is characterized by the milled slots in the seat and backrest. The folding mechanism is also a beautiful detail. An iconic design with an ergonomic seat.
Condition: fair to good. The woodwork is intact, but has some wear. The folding mechanism works well, but has some play due to age.

Originele vintage opklapbare beuken fauteuils/eettafel stoelen ontworpen in de 50e jaren door de Sloveense architect Niko Kralj (1920-2013) voor Stol. De stoelen bestaan uit massief beuken zittigen en mooie vormgegeven beukenmultiplex armleuningen. Het uiterlijk van deze stoelen, die opgenomen zijn in de collectie van het museum voor moderne kunst in New York en het Designmuseum in Denemarken, heeft zijn karakteristiek door de gefreesde sleuven in de zitting en rugleuning. Mooi detail is ook het mechanisme voor het inklappen van de stoel. Iconisch ontwerp met een ergonomische zit. Redelijk tot goede conditie. Het houtwerk is gaaf, maar heeft wat sleetse plekken. Het inklapmechanisme werkt goed, maar heeft speling door het gebruik in de tijd. Afmetingen: breed 58 cm, diep 63 cm, hoog 83 cm, zithoogte 38-39 cm
