Six vintage Cesca tubular frame cantilever dining chairs based on the design of Marcel Breuer, produced by Fasem in Italy 1990s / Set van 6 Cesca eettafelstoelen gebaseerd op het ontwerp van de S32 van Marcel Breuer / Thonet. Deze stoelen zijn in Italië geproduceerd door Fasem, 1999. De designklassieker heeft een chromen buisframe en een zitting en rugleuning van gevlochten riet met blank gelakte beuken randen. Twee stoelen zijn gemerkt met een Fasem sticker. Productiedatum is bij alle stoelen in het houten frame gestanst.
Conditie: goede vintage conditie. Twee zittingen hebben een nieuwe webbing / zitting. Kleine beschadiging bij het riet van een rugleuning. Voor een totaalbeeld zie de foto’s van alle zes stoelen.
Afmetingen: breed 46 cm, diep 54 cm, hoogte 78 cm, zithoogte 44,5 cm.

Set of 6 Cesca dining table chairs based on the design of the S32 by Marcel Breuer / Thonet. These chairs were produced in Italy by Fasem, 1999. The design classic has a chrome tubular frame and a seat and backrest of woven cane with clear lacquered beech edges. Two chairs are marked with a Fasem sticker. Production date is stamped in the wooden frame on all chairs. Good vintage condition. Two seats have a new webbing / seat. Small damage to the reed of a backrest. Beautiful drawing of the wood on the backrests. Chairs in a crossover style with a modern design and a traditional use of materials. The design of the chairs has many similarities with the chairs that Martin Visser designed for ’t Spectrum in the 60s.

🟡 Rare MID CENTURY small birchwood cabinet by Pastoe, 1960s
Unique wall cabinet produced by UMS Pastoe in the 1960s. This birchwood cabinet with compass legs has three dust-resistant drawers and a door. The designer may have been Cees Braakman, but we haven’t seen a cabinet like this before. It was either in production for a short time or perhaps a prototype. The cabinet is marked.

🟡 Traditional JAPANESE wooden Tansu storage cabinet (trunk), ca. 1900

A beautiful Japanese wooden mobile Tansu (箪笥) cabinet from the Meiji period, circa 1900, with a beautiful patina. The cabinet was primarily used for storing clothing, especially kimonos. This functional approach is clearly reflected in the metal corner protectors and the lockable drawers and sliding doors. This cabinet has several wide drawers, two sliding doors, and two “hidden” drawers behind a door. A nice detail is the cast iron supports on the sides of the cabinet. Beautiful cabinet in a modern interior or brutalist architecture.
Tansu (箪笥) are traditional Japanese mobile storage cabinets. Tansu are commonly used for the storage of clothing, particularly kimono.
Tansu were rarely used as stationary furniture. Consistent with traditional Japanese interior design, which featured a number of movable partitions, allowing for the creation of larger and smaller rooms within the home, tansu would need to be easily portable, and were not visible in the home except at certain times[which?] for specific situations.[which?]
Tansu were typically kept in kura (storehouses) adjacent to homes or businesses, in nando (storage rooms), in oshiire (house closet alcoves), and on choba (a raised platform area of a shop). Tansu would also be kept on some sengokubune (coastal ships). Mobility was obtained through the use of attached wheels, iron carry handles or protruding structural upper rails for lifting.
