Sturdy coffee table consisting of a curved plywood frame and inlaid with ceramic tiles with leaf and flower motifs (Herbarium). The cocktail table stands on four round removable legs.The so-called “Garrigue” tiles were produced with a technique in which real leaves were pressed into the clay and fell apart during baking, leaving a finely detailed print. Roger Capron is the best-known designer of these tables for Atelier Callis in the Vallauris region of France. The table is not provided with a hallmark.
Condition: good vintage condition. Light traces of use on the wooden edge of the table.

Stoere salontafel bestaande uit een gebogen plywood frame en ingelegd met keramische tegels voorzien van blad- en bloemmotief (Herbarium). De cocktailtafel staat op vier ronde afneembare poten. De zo genaamde “Garrigue” tegels werden geproduceerd met een techniek waarbij echte balderen in de klei zijn gedrukt en tijdens het bakken uiteenvielen, waardoor een fijn gedetailleerde afdruk achter bleef. Roger Capron (1922-2006) is de bekendste ontwerper van deze tafels voor Atelier Callis in de streek Vallauris Frankrijk. De tafel is niet voorzien van een merkteken. Goede vintage conditie. Lichte gebruikssporen aan de houten rand van de tafel.
